FableRoots ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. We built FableRoots to be a safe, offline-first reading experience for families. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle data when you use the FableRoots iOS application.

1. No Personal Information Collected

We believe that what you and your family read is your business. FableRoots is designed to function entirely without collecting personal data.

• No Accounts: FableRoots does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide an email address, name, or phone number.
• No Analytics or Tracking: We do not use third-party analytics SDKs, crash reporters, or advertising networks. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

2. On-Device Data Storage

To make the app function smoothly, FableRoots saves certain operational information directly to your device. This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

• User Preferences: We store your app choices—such as your selected languages, display layout mode, and whether you have completed the onboarding setup—locally using standard iOS storage (UserDefaults).
• Story Content: Downloaded illustrations, text, audio files, and your download history are stored securely in your device's local application folder so you can read fully offline.

3. Third-Party Services

FableRoots relies on two external services to deliver content and process purchases. We do not share user identities with these services:

• Apple (In-App Purchases): All purchases are processed securely through Apple's App Store via StoreKit. We do not process, receive, or store your credit card or financial information. Your purchase history is tied to your Apple ID and governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
• Cloudflare (Content Delivery): When FableRoots downloads new story catalogs or audio/illustration bundles, it connects to our content delivery network, Cloudflare. Like all standard web traffic, these HTTP requests expose your device's IP address to Cloudflare's server logs for security, routing, and performance purposes. We do not receive user-identifiable data from these logs.

(Note: FableRoots also utilizes an open-source library, ZIPFoundation, which operates entirely offline on your device to unzip story files and collects no data.)

4. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

FableRoots is a family-oriented app designed to be used by parents and children together. We are deeply committed to protecting children's privacy and comply fully with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect, require, use, or distribute personal information from children under 13 (or from any users). If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal data, please contact us so we can securely delete it immediately.

5. User Rights & Data Deletion

Because FableRoots does not maintain user accounts or store personal data on any servers, there is no account to delete. You have full, immediate control over your data directly on your device:

• Clear Downloaded Content: You can delete all downloaded story files at any time via the app's settings by tapping "Purge Offline Content."
