"FieldSketch" ("the app") is designed with privacy in mind. This policy explains how the app handles information.
1. Information Collected
The app does not collect personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, or contact details.
The app does not use advertising identifiers for tracking, and contains no analytics or advertising SDKs.
2. Data Processed Locally on Your Device
To provide its features, the app stores the following information locally on your iPhone:
- Measurement sessions: point coordinates, distances, calibration values, and optional GPS coordinates (app's local folder)
- Photos taken automatically during measurement and recorded videos (app's local folder — not the iOS Photos library)
- Imported PDF drawings (cadastral maps, plans) and their tracing data (app's local folder)
- Auto-saved backup of an in-progress measurement, used for crash recovery (app's local folder)
- App settings such as distance unit and recording method, and the first-launch date (UserDefaults)
This data is managed on your device and is never sent to external servers.
3. Permissions
- Camera (required): Used for AR distance measurement. The camera feed is processed in real time on your device, and is saved as a video file only when you use the recording feature.
- Location (optional): Used to record GPS coordinates for measured points and to obtain compass heading.
- Microphone (optional): Used only when you record video with audio enabled. You can record without audio.
The app does not request access to your Photos library. The only file access the app requests is read-only access to PDF files you explicitly choose to import.
