This Privacy Policy explains what Jewelee ("Jewelee", "we", "us") does with information when you use the Jewelee iOS app. Jewelee identifies and estimates the value of jewelry from a photograph.

We have tried to describe what the app actually does rather than reserve every right we could. If something here is unclear, email us at [email protected].

1. The short version

• Jewelee has no user accounts. You never give us a name, an email address, or a password to use the app.
• Your photographs and your saved collection are stored on your device, not on our servers. We do not operate a server that stores your pieces.
• To identify a piece, the photograph is sent to Google's AI service for analysis and the result is sent back. This is the only time a photograph leaves your device.
• We use a small number of third-party services for payments, crash reports, product analytics, and notifications. They are all listed in section 4.

2. Information Jewelee processes

Photographs of your jewelry

When you photograph a piece with the camera or choose an existing photograph from your library, Jewelee sends that image to Google's Firebase AI Logic service to detect the piece and produce an appraisal. Google processes the image to return a result. Jewelee does not keep a copy on any server of ours, because we do not run one.

Please be aware that a photograph can capture more than you intend — a hand, a face, a document, or a recognisable room in the background. Frame the piece closely if that matters to you.

Your saved collection

Pieces you choose to save are written to your device's app storage: the appraisal record in a local database, the image file alongside it. This data stays on your device.

If you have iCloud Backup enabled, this collection is included in your device backup. That is deliberate — these are your own photographs of your own property, and losing them when you move to a new phone would not be acceptable. Those backups are governed by Apple's privacy policy, not ours.

Purchases

Jewelee Pro is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through Apple. We never see your payment details. Apple processes the payment; RevenueCat tells the app whether your subscription is active. RevenueCat identifies you with a randomly generated app user ID that is not linked to your name or email.
