Ordune, previously named Workspace Tiles, is a Chrome extension that helps users save, organize, and reopen web resources in local workspaces from Chrome's new tab page.
Ordune may handle workspace names and notes; website names, URLs, page titles, and favicon URLs; bookmarks and open tabs selected by the user; and selected text, images, and source-page metadata that the user explicitly chooses to save.
The extension does not require an account and does not intentionally request names, email addresses, passwords, financial information, health information, authentication information, personal communications, or precise location information. User-written notes or website content selected by the user may nevertheless contain information chosen by that user.
Search queries entered in the new tab search field are passed through Chrome's Search API to the user's selected default search provider. Ordune does not store those queries or send them to the developer.
If the user affirmatively opts in to anonymous usage analytics, Ordune also handles a random installation identifier, random event identifiers, event names, event times, extension version, analytics schema version, and—for content-added events—the broad content type (site, quote, or image). These analytics events do not contain workspace names or IDs, URLs, saved text, images, notes, file paths, search queries, bookmark contents, or tab contents.
Workspace and web-resource information is used only to create, display, organize, search, save, and reopen the workspaces and resources requested by the user. Optional anonymous usage analytics are used only to understand feature adoption and improve the performance, reliability, and user experience of Ordune. The extension does not build browsing profiles, monitor browsing in the background, or use information for advertising.
Workspace definitions, website shortcuts, notes, preferences, and extension settings are stored locally using chrome.storage.local. Captured text and image records, image assets, favicon cache entries, and the local Library connection are stored using browser-local storage such as IndexedDB.
The analytics consent choice is stored locally. If analytics are enabled, a random installation identifier, a bounded queue of pending analytics events, and the date used to avoid duplicate daily open events are also stored locally. Disabling analytics removes the pending event queue and the daily-open marker. The random installation identifier remains locally stored unless the extension is uninstalled, and is reused if analytics are enabled again.
When the user explicitly selects or creates an Ordune Library folder, workspace data and captured resources are also written to that local folder through the browser's File System Access capability. Existing Workspace Tiles Library folders remain supported after the upgrade. The developer does not receive the folder contents.
Ordune does not provide developer-operated synchronization or cloud storage for workspace content and does not upload workspace content to servers operated by the developer. Optional anonymous usage analytics are the limited developer-operated data flow described below.
Ordune does not create or transmit analytics events unless the user affirmatively chooses "Share anonymously" in the analytics consent dialog or later enables "Anonymous usage data" in Settings > General. Declining or dismissing the dialog keeps analytics disabled. The user can change this choice at any time.
When enabled, Ordune may record the following event types: opening the extension's new tab experience, creating a workspace, opening a workspace, and adding content. For a content-added event, the extension records only whether the content was a site, quote, or image. Each event contains a random installation identifier, a separate random event identifier, the event time, extension version, and analytics schema version.
Analytics events are transmitted over HTTPS to a developer-controlled endpoint hosted by Supabase. Supabase acts as a service provider for receiving and storing these events. As with an ordinary HTTPS request, Supabase receives the user's IP address and may process basic request and operational log information under its own privacy terms. The developer's analytics event table does not store the IP address.
Received analytics events are retained for up to 24 months and then deleted automatically. Disabling analytics stops future collection and deletes unsent events from the local queue, but does not automatically delete events already received by the analytics service. Users may contact the developer at the address below to ask about deletion of previously received analytics data associated with an installation.
