Privacy Policy for CalmLens AI

Last updated: October 2026

CalmLens AI (“we”, “our”, or “the extension”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it when you use our browser extension.

1. Data Collection and Usage

CalmLens AI is designed with a privacy-first approach.

2. API and Third-Party Services

To perform AI classification, the text of news headlines is sent to a secure proxy server and processed by the Groq API.

3. Data Storage

All user preferences, usage statistics (such as the number of headlines hidden), and custom settings (like your personal API key, if provided) are stored locally on your device using your browser’s local storage mechanism (chrome.storage.local). We have no access to this data.

4. Analytics and Tracking

We do not use Google Analytics, cookies, or any other tracking software. Your usage behavior is never tracked.

5. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this policy.
