Methodology: Every node is scored on two axes before a word gets written.
- Awareness (Schwartz): Unaware / Problem Aware / Solution Aware / Product Aware / Most Aware
- Sophistication (Schwartz): Stage 1 (direct claim) through Stage 5 (identification — the market is tired of mechanism claims and now buys on who the brand is)
The original deck used one voice for the entire customer base regardless of funnel position. A cart abandoner sitting on a $120 cart and a VIP who hasn't ordered in 90 days are different people rhetorically. The rewrite below treats them as such.
Master Flow 1 — High-Intent Recovery
Everyone in this flow already added to cart. Nobody here needs to be told the product exists. The only variable is why they stopped and how close they are to $75.
Email 1 — Universal Cart Reminder
- Trigger position: T+15 min after Checkout Started, before the value split
- Awareness: Product Aware — they picked the exact SKU, no education needed
- Sophistication: Stage 5 (identification) — a discount this early trains people to abandon on purpose; the job is friction removal, not persuasion
- Diagnosis: Original was fine directionally but buried the actual objection-killer (sizing/compatibility doubt) under a generic "spec guides" mention instead of leading with it
Subject: You left your cart mid-checkout
Preview: Nothing's changed, we just held your spot.
Your cart is saved exactly as you left it.
If something made you pause, it's usually one of three things: fit, compatibility, or just timing. If it's fit or compatibility, our spec pages answer that in under a minute, linked below your cart.

Email 2A — Standard Cart Recovery (Free Shipping, cart < $75)
- Trigger position: T+23h, "No" branch of $75 value split
- Awareness: Product Aware, price-sensitive at the margin
- Sophistication: Stage 3 — a small cart at this stage abandoned over an added cost, not over doubt in the product; the mechanism worth naming is "shipping is the entire objection," not the product itself
- Diagnosis: Original correctly identified shipping as the blocker but wasted the open naming a vague "reliable setup" theme instead of confirming the exact cost removed
