QuotesBook doesn't collect your personal information. Your quotes stay on your device — and in your own iCloud account, if you choose to turn sync on. I have no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no way to see what you save.

What QuotesBook stores

Your quotes (text, author, character, title, source, tags, and notes) and your settings (theme, font, and similar preferences) are stored on your device. QuotesBook's widgets and share-sheet option use a shared storage area on the same device so they can show or receive your quotes. None of this is sent to me.

iCloud Sync (optional)

If you turn on iCloud Sync in Settings, your quotes are stored in your own private iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit, so they can appear on your other devices. That data is protected by your Apple ID and Apple's privacy practices, and I can't access it. Sync is off by default.

Camera

QuotesBook asks for camera access only when you choose to scan text into a quote. Scanning happens entirely on your device. Nothing is photographed or saved, and neither the camera image nor the recognized text leaves your device.

Tag suggestions

The Generate button next to Tags uses Apple's on-device language model (part of Apple Intelligence). Your quote is processed on your device to suggest tags. It isn't sent to me or to any third party.

Sharing, importing, and exporting

Sharing a quote, copying it, or exporting your library as a CSV file happens only when you ask, and the content goes wherever you send it. Importing reads only the file you pick. QuotesBook never sends any of this anywhere on its own.

Tips

The Tip Jar uses Apple's in-app purchase system. Apple processes the payment — I never see your payment details or your Apple ID. Apple reports sales to me in aggregate, without your name or contact details. Tips are optional and unlock nothing.

What I don't do

Apple's optional app analytics

If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device's settings, Apple may give me anonymous, aggregate usage and crash reports. They aren't tied to your identity and don't include your quotes.
