About the Role
We are building the next-generation Global Satellite Constellation for highly precise and secure Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) using Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated RF Engineer to lead the development, design, and validation of critical RF modules for our upcoming satellite missions. In this role, you will work on end-to-end engineering lifecycle of subsystems such as the Navigation Transmission Module and the Inter-Satellite Link (ISL) RF Transmit-Receive Module.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, simulate and analyse RF architecture design of the transmit and receive chains for Navigation transmit module and Inter Satellite Link.
- Select and evaluate RF components (mixers, LNAs, filters, attenuators) balancing performance, reliability, and space-grade qualification standards while optimizing for SWaP-C (Size, Weight, Power, and Cost) constraints.
- Design electromagnetic shielding and isolation structures to mitigate co-site interference, cross-talk, and radiation coupling between sensitive RX chains and high-power TX chains.
- Design high-power RF paths with careful consideration of thermal constraints and space-environment phenomena.
- Perform RF link budget analysis for inter-satellite communication factoring in free-space path loss, atmospheric/ionospheric effects, antenna gains (G/T ratio), EIRP, and required Eb/No or BER thresholds..
- Collaboratively establish technical interfaces between the RF front-end and the digital processing units for seamless signal up/down-conversion.
- Utilize standard RF laboratory equipment, including Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs) for S-parameter measurements, Spectrum Analyzers for spectral purity/harmonics, and Signal Generators for complex modulation formats
Required Skills & Experience
- 2 years of professional experience in RF design, development, or testing (experience in the aerospace, defense, or satellite communication sectors is a strong plus).
