Everything you need to know before renting gear from PGFPRODZ — deposits, late/damage fees, payment, and liability terms.
Rental Terms
- A security deposit is the only deposit needed to confirm a rental — no separate retainer applies. Held via card authorization: $100 for lighting/audio/support items, $250 for camera bodies and lenses. The hold is released within 3 business days of the item's confirmed, undamaged return.
- Late returns are billed at .5x the daily rate for each day late, starting the day after the agreed return date.
- Damage or loss is billed at repair cost, or full replacement value if unrepairable/unrecovered, in addition to the forfeited deposit.
- Equipment condition: all rental gear is used, professional equipment — tested, cleaned, and maintained between rentals, but not new. Any notable cosmetic wear is disclosed on request before pickup.
- A valid government-issued ID is required at pickup; a credit card must be on file for the deposit hold.
- Renters are responsible for the equipment for the full rental period regardless of use, storage, or third-party handling.
- Rental payment: With the security deposit covering your reservation, the full rental payment is due no later than 24 hours before pickup. Accepted payment methods: Zelle, Venmo, CashApp, or PayPal (no fee); card or ACH via invoice (3% processing fee applies).
- Full payment and cancellation terms: Terms & Conditions.
Rates are benchmarked against national rental marketplaces (e.g. LensRentals) for comparable gear and set below their listed pricing.
Keep It Instead of Returning It (Keeper Option)
- Fall in love with something you rented? Select gear can be purchased outright instead of returned — only items marked Keeper Eligible on the Full Rental Inventory are available to buy.
- The keeper price factors in the item's retail cost, its current condition/age, and remaining resale value — a first-rental item prices close to retail, while a well-used item prices closer to fair used-market value.
- To go the keeper route, reach out before your rental ends via Get In Touch — we'll confirm a price and next steps. Rental fees already paid for that period are credited toward the purchase price.
- Keeper purchases are final sale, as-is, with no additional warranty beyond what's stated in Assumption of Risk & Liability below.
Assumption of Risk & Liability
- By renting equipment, the renter assumes full responsibility and risk for any injury, loss, or property damage arising from the use, handling, transport, or storage of the rented equipment, whether by the renter or any third party.
- The renter agrees to indemnify and hold PGFPRODZ harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from the renter's use of the equipment.
- Equipment is rented "as-is." PGFPRODZ makes no warranty of fitness for a particular purpose and is not liable for lost shoots, missed events, or consequential damages resulting from equipment malfunction.
