The platform requires integrating historical, cultural, and artistic information into a coherent digital experience. Research focused on understanding how users engage with legacy art content and how structured interpretation can support both accessibility and authority.
This was not a standard product research challenge. The subject matter — Korean modernism, national division, postwar reconstruction — is unfamiliar to most international audiences. The research had to simultaneously surface what general audiences need in order to engage, and what professional audiences need in order to trust. Both questions required distinct approaches.
To identify user needs, content requirements, and structural strategies necessary to design a digital platform that communicates historical significance effectively.
