Commonly depicted for xenomorphs are their hives and how “special” they are. It’s been stated their hive acts almost like its own network sensing vibrations and more before altering hive members to it like a constantly alert security system that is the structure itself.

Upon entering a hive and standing on resin, players may notice that xenomorphs seem to immediately find their location and swarm them. This is not due to them being able to see through walls, but rather the hive structure itself alerting the hive members to your location.

This mechanic is called Resin Detection. This is how xenomorphs generally track you across their hive.

It is best to deal with hives at a range with a flamethrower or grenades before entering.
