Who counts as a Returning TF?

You qualify as a returning Tech Fellow if you served as a CodePath Tech Fellow between Fall 2025 and Summer 2026. If your most recent TF term was before Fall 2025, please apply through the new applicant process instead.

The Tech Fellow program is designed to allow CodePath engineers to continue growing their technical, professional, and leadership skills while nurturing these same skills in the students they support.

Strong returning TFs consistently:

• Build a learning environment that is engaging and effective
• Foster technical excellence
• Are attentive, responsive, and proactive in communication and support </aside>

💡 Why is the Returning TF Process Different from the New Applicant Process?

As a current or recently active TF, you've already demonstrated your ability to effectively facilitate and support students. Because of that, the returning TF process focuses on a few key areas for upcoming terms:

• Availability – Confirming your capacity to support a course this term.
• Course Preferences – Understanding which courses you're most interested in teaching.
• Course Fit – Ensuring your experience, skills, and interests align with the courses you'd like to support.

This streamlined process helps us place TFs where they can have the greatest impact while ensuring a strong experience for both students and instructional teams.

📝 What You’ll Submit

Instead of completing a full application, you'll simply provide:

• The course(s) you're interested in supporting

• (If applicable) A technical prework video for any new-to-you courses to help us assess your readiness and subject matter knowledge

  Returning TF Prompt(s) for New-to-You Course Assignments

⚙️ How it works

Returning Tech Fellows who submit the Returning TF Application will be added to the TF bench and considered for opportunities in the current hiring cycle.

⚠️ Important: Submission of the Returning TF Application does not guarantee a placement or job offer. Rather, it provides a streamlined path to bench consideration and may lead to direct-to-hire placement based on program needs, course availability, and your application responses.

📚 Course Assignment Rules

✅ Continuing in the Same Course(s)

If you’ve completed or supported a course and want to continue:

• No prework required
• Applies to:
  • Courses you’ve fully completed as a student (not observer status)
  • Courses you’ve previously TF’d
• You’re also eligible for lower-level courses in the same sequence
  • Example: Supported WEB103 → eligible for WEB101, 102, 103

🆕 Supporting a New Course

If you want to support a new course stream:

• Complete the required technical prework video(s)
• Only candidates who complete prework by the deadline will be considered
