Root ("we," "our," or "us") is a personal habit-tracking and recovery app. This policy explains what information we collect, how it's used, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
When you use Root, we may collect the following:
- Account information: your email address, used to create and secure your account.
- App content you provide: your name, age range, onboarding quiz answers, symptom checklist selections, personal goals, and your streak/relapse history. This information is used to personalize the app and track your progress over time.
- Purchase information: if you subscribe or make a purchase, our payment processing partner (RevenueCat) shares transaction and subscription status data with us so we can grant access to paid features. We never see or store your payment card details — those are handled directly by the App Store.
- Diagnostic information: crash logs and performance data, used only to identify and fix bugs.
- Device identifiers: a non-advertising identifier used to associate your purchases and diagnostic reports with your installation of the app.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide and personalize the app's core features (streak tracking, progress history, and reminders).
- To process and validate purchases.
- To diagnose crashes and improve app stability.
- To respond to support requests you send us.
We do not sell your information. We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not share it with data brokers.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate Root:
- Supabase — account authentication and data storage.
