Welcome to the Sequoia Team Space!

This team is co-supervised by Dr. Shuyang Si and Dr. Nakaya Kakuda.

Our mission is to conduct applied economics related research in AI-Human Interaction, Food Policy & Marketing, Energy and Environmental Economics fields. We try to build a team of students who have long-term research interests. We are part of the XJTLU S.E.E.D.S. Student Club, see SEEDS-XJTLU.github.io.

We believe great research does not live in a vacuum. We actively bridge the gap between academia and practice — bringing industry insights into our research questions and translating our findings back into actionable insights. Whether it's understanding how AI reshapes consumer trust, how food labeling nudges healthier choices, or how energy pricing drives sustainable behavior, we want our work to matter beyond the journal page.

We also aim to foster industry collaboration and research collaboration. If you are a practitioner with real-world puzzles, a policymaker looking for evidence, or a fellow researcher who shares our curiosity — we would love to talk.
