These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Zara Chechi, trading as Smithword ("Smithword", "we", "us", "our"). They govern your use of the Smithword app and website at smithwordapp.com (together, the "Service").
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Smithword is a writing app that plans a book into small, manageable writing sessions across a timeline based on the information you give us. The Service is provided on an "as is" basis and we may update, change, or improve it over time.
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Please tell us straight away if you think someone else has accessed your account.
Some parts of the Service are free to explore. Access to the writing sessions requires a paid membership.
You can cancel your membership at any time through the customer portal linked in your account. When you cancel, you keep access until the end of your current paid period, and you will not be charged again after that. Cancelling during your free trial stops it before any charge is taken.
Because you can cancel at any time and start with a free trial, we do not generally offer refunds for partial billing periods already paid. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law. If you believe you have been charged in error, contact us at [email protected] and we will look into it.
Some early users have been given free ongoing access as founding members. This access is a gift from us and does not create a paid membership. We may describe the terms of that access separately.
