Edgerun Industries · Palo Alto, CA · Full time · $150-200K + equity
Edgerun's mission is to remove civilization-level physical constraints limiting the human body. We believe a future where humans keep pushing into the unknown is far better than one where we send machines in our place. That starts on the battlefield, doubling what a soldier can carry and how far they can carry it. Read more about our mission here →
SOFTWARE ENGINEER
As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the software layer around the world's most advanced powered exoskeleton, serving both the engineers building it and the units in the field using it. You will work with a talented team of accomplished engineers to build the telemetry, fleet tooling, and test infrastructure that turn every step a soldier takes into something someone can act on. You should thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where you adapt quickly and love to solve hard problems.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build the pipelines that turn raw sensor and test data into dashboards, logs, and alerts engineers can use
- Own the path from a device in the field to a decision at a desk: ingestion, storage, and the tooling on top of it
- Build what the units see: fleet status, readiness, service needs, and usage, so a commander knows the state of every system before a mission
- Build the dataset that the gait models train on, and the tooling to construct, label, and validate it
- Set up and maintain CI and hardware in the loop test rigs so problems get caught before they reach a person
- Work closely with firmware to keep data flowing from hardware into the engineering loop
- Build and maintain the web tools and internal apps the team needs
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or another technical discipline
- 3+ years building production software, including systems that ingest and process real data at scale
- Experience working close to hardware or firmware, not only application code
