How does Lingered handle privacy?

Lingered is designed to keep everything on your device. It does not collect, store, or transmit your personal data.

Are my messages uploaded anywhere?

No. Messages are stored locally on your device and are never uploaded to a server.

Does emotion detection send my text to the cloud?

No. Emotion analysis runs entirely on-device.

Why does Lingered ask for Contacts access?

If you grant permission, Lingered can read your contacts so you can address messages more easily. Contact data is not stored or transmitted.

Does Lingered use analytics or ads?

No ads and no analytics.

Is there crash reporting?

Yes. Lingered uses Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymous crash reports containing only technical crash information (no message content). You can disable this in your device settings.

Troubleshooting

• App is crashing: Update to the latest version and restart your device. If it still crashes, email support with your device model and OS version.
• Emotion detection seems inaccurate: Emotion labels are estimates and can vary by context. Try shorter messages or more explicit wording. You can even choose it from the list of emotions.
• Contacts aren’t showing: Make sure Contacts permission is enabled for Lingered in your device settings.
