This Cookie Policy supplements the Travelbase Privacy Policy and explains how Travelbase LLC (“Travelbase”, “we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our website at travelbase.ai and in our web application. It describes what these technologies are, the categories we use, and the choices available to you.
Cookies are small text files placed on your browser or device when you visit a website. They allow the site to recognize your device, keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used. Session cookies expire when you close your browser; persistent cookies remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them — on our site, the longest-lived cookies are the Google Analytics cookies, which we have configured to expire 25 months after your visit, although your browser may delete them sooner, as browsers place their own limits on cookie lifespans. Cookies set by us are first-party cookies; cookies set by other companies whose services we use are third-party cookies.
We also use related technologies that serve similar purposes. Pixel tags (small transparent images embedded in pages or emails) tell us whether a page or message was viewed and help measure the performance of our communications. Local storage holds settings and session data in your browser. Software development kits perform equivalent functions within our mobile applications.
We group the cookies on our website and application into four categories.
| Category | What it does | Can you refuse it? |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Required for the site and application to function: authentication and session management, security controls, load balancing, fraud prevention, and recording your cookie consent choices. Without these, core features such as signing in and completing a booking do not work. | No. These are always active because the service cannot operate without them. |
| Functional | Remember choices you make, such as language, region, and display preferences, so the site behaves consistently across visits. | Yes, through the cookie banner. Some convenience features will stop working. |
| Performance and analytics | Help us understand how visitors use the site: pages viewed, links clicked, search terms, time on page, and errors encountered. We use this to fix problems, improve navigation, and measure which content is useful. | Yes, through the cookie banner. The site works normally without them. |
| Marketing | May be used to measure the effectiveness of our campaigns and to show you relevant Travelbase content on other sites, based on your visit to ours. | Yes, through the cookie banner. You will still see ads elsewhere, but they will not be informed by your visits to our site. |
We use Google Analytics, a service provided by Google, to collect and analyze information about how our website and application are used, including pages visited, actions taken, approximate location, and device and browser characteristics. Google Analytics does not log or store full IP addresses on our behalf; IP data is used to derive approximate location and coarse device information and is then discarded. We have configured data retention so that user-level analytics data is deleted automatically after 14 months.
You can learn about Google’s own privacy practices at policies.google.com/privacy, and you can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites by installing the browser add-on available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Refusing performance and analytics cookies through our cookie banner has the same effect on our site.
Consent banner. When you first visit travelbase.ai, a consent banner lets you accept or refuse each category of cookies other than those that are strictly necessary. You can change your choices at any time through the cookie settings link in the site footer.
Browser settings. You can also delete or block cookies through your browser. Each browser publishes instructions for managing cookies in its help documentation, including Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent parts of the site and application from working. Withdrawing consent or deleting cookies does not undo data collection that occurred before you did so.
Mobile devices. Mobile operating systems provide device-level controls for limiting ad tracking and resetting advertising identifiers, available in the privacy settings of iOS and Android.
We will update this policy when the cookies or technologies we use change. The date at the top reflects the latest revision, and material changes will be reflected in the consent banner where required.
