Privacy Policy

TTC Now ("we", "us") is an unofficial app that shows real-time TTC arrival times. It is not affiliated with the Toronto Transit Commission. This policy explains what data the app collects, why, and who receives it.
1. Information we collect
- Location. If you allow location access, the app uses your location on your device to find nearby stops. It also sends us your location rounded to about 100 metres, with its accuracy, at most once every 15 seconds while the Home or Map screen is open. We use this to understand where the app is used. If you don't allow location, no location is sent.
- Region settings. Your country (from the mobile network and SIM), time zone and language.
- App activity. Screens you open and buttons you tap (for example, opening a stop or turning on a departure alert), the number of days you've used the app, and whether you've bought ad removal. We don't send the text you type in search, or which stops you open.
- Identifiers. A random ID the app creates when first opened. It isn't linked to your name, account or advertising ID.
- Crash logs and diagnostics. If the app crashes, details of the crash and your device are collected.
- Purchases. Payments are handled by Google Play. We never see your payment details.
We don't collect your name, email address, contacts, photos or files.
2. Third-party services
These services receive data directly from the app and handle it under their own privacy policies:
- Google AdMob shows ads. It collects your device's advertising ID, IP address (used to estimate general location), ad interactions and diagnostic data, and uses them for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings.
- Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics collect app usage, in-app purchase events, crash reports, app identifiers, your advertising ID, and approximate location derived from your IP address.
- Google Maps shows the map and your location on it.
- Google Play Billing processes purchases.
- TTC servers provide arrival times. The app sends them only the stop and route numbers being looked up, and no identifier.
