TapZap — Privacy Policy

Last updated 21 July 2026

The short version: TapZap collects nothing. There is no account, no server, and no analytics. Your photos are analysed on your iPhone and never leave it.

Information we collect

None. TapZap has no backend, no user accounts, and no analytics or advertising SDKs. We cannot see your photos, how you use the app, or that you use it at all.

How your photos are used

When you grant photo library access, TapZap reads your photos so it can display them and, when you confirm, delete them. Finding duplicates and similar shots is done entirely on your device using Apple's Vision framework. No image, thumbnail, or derived data is ever uploaded.

You can revoke or limit photo access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos.

What is stored on your device

To avoid rescanning your library every time, TapZap keeps the following inside its own app container on your iPhone:

All of it is local. Deleting TapZap removes it permanently.

Deleting photos

TapZap never deletes anything on its own. Deletion always goes through iOS, which shows its own confirmation dialog, and removed items go to Recently Deleted in the Photos app, where they can be restored for 30 days.

Purchases

Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive or store your name, payment details, or Apple Account information. TapZap only asks iOS whether a valid purchase exists.
