This guide is for new players trying AION2, specifically the Templar class. It won't cover game basics — it focuses entirely on Templar. All information is based on the latest Launch Scale Test with supplementary details from the Taiwan version.

Templar excels in holding boss aggro and giving attack buffs and shield buffs to party members.

Some changes might happen at global release, but it is expected to adapt all Quality-of-Life systems already implemented in the KR/TW servers. So, do not take this guide as gospel; instead, read it as a guide to help you become familiar with the system.

1. Equipment

There are three paths for PVE gearing:

  1. Dungeon weapons, armor & accessories — casual player path.
  2. Crafted gear — vertical progression and future-proofing.
  3. Mix of both — use dungeon gear until you transition fully to crafted.

Recommended approach: Finish the main quest including sub-quests first, then work up from dungeon to crafted gear. No heroic equipment will be available early in the game.
