I greatly enjoyed the elements of play and being allowed a scope for experimentation without judgement.

“The workshops as a whole nicely complemented one another. I liked how each of them covered a range of diverse areas of inquiry pegged to emerging and established tool-sets. One of the most memorable moments was from the ending of the first workshop with Isabella Ong, where all of us got a chance to play with the NAC Art x Tech Lab space by plastering printouts of our sketches made in Processing on the walls. Along with it being the longest workshop out of all (a total of 8 hours in one go with a break for lunch in-between), the mini impromptu exhibition style ending was unexpected! I greatly enjoyed the elements of play and being allowed a scope for experimentation without judgement. For all the workshops, being able to hear which other artists or what inspired the respective artist's own body of work and how they developed their own style was illuminating as it also helped to broaden my own knowledge of the various types of emerging art and artists to take note of. Also, having the chance to talk to a couple of other attendees and find out about their own motivations and line of work was an added bonus. Moving forward, the workshops and the learnings helped to further underscore the importance of the immense possibilities available through experimentation with emerging tool-sets and workflows. always learning, staying updated on emerging tools and workflows and staying curious to find other interesting entanglements/areas of interest which can be investigated through my own art practice.”

The supportive environment really enabled my learning, especially as someone who isn't particularly technically inclined. Being able to experiment with new tools without pressure made all the difference.

“The workshop was my first time dipping my toes into creative tech, and it proved to be an incredibly in-depth introduction to the field. I particularly enjoyed Module 1, where we explored the history of generative art and discovered its origins predating modern computers and AI.

The supportive environment really enabled my learning, especially as someone who isn't particularly technically inclined. Being able to experiment with new tools without pressure made all the difference. I also appreciated making friends across different disciplines and meeting kindred spirits who share similar interests. I'm incredibly grateful for this opportunity and will be taking the tools, knowledge and mental models into my future art practice.”

Beyond the technical skills, i was introduced me to new ways of thinking about technology and creativity through the artists' conceptual frameworks.

"The Entangled Agencies workshop series was an incredible introduction to creative coding and AI-assisted design. What struck me most was how beginner-friendly the program made complex concepts – I went from having no experience to actively experimenting with hand-tracking and audio reactive interactive visuals in just a few sessions.

Beyond the technical skills, i was introduced me to new ways of thinking about technology and creativity through the artists' conceptual frameworks.

What I'm taking forward is both the confidence to experiment independently and a new understanding of how AI can be a creative collaborator rather than just a tool. Since the workshops ended, I've continued exploring on my own, building on what we learned.

The program excels at demystifying creative coding for me.”

I left feeling energised, with a few more tools in my bag for my own projects, and best of all, connecting with other creatives in the new Art x Tech Lab space.

“The Entangled Agencies workshop series was fun and inspiring. I loved seeing how the artists approach their creative work, geeking out with AI tools like ComfyUI, and experimenting with gesture poses in p5.js. I left feeling energised, with a few more tools in my bag for my own projects, and best of all, connecting with other creatives in the new Art x Tech Lab space.

Grateful for the opportunity to participate, I’m looking forward to more events like this!”

It’s a challenge to learn new tech well enough to be able to execute a concept fully or create compelling visuals. But it was a useful introduction to the creative tech processes, to see what's possible.

“[I] enjoyed the 3 artists perspectives for different reasons so [it’s] hard to elaborate on favourites…
