The fathers are just as lost.
This is not a generational failure that started with social media or woke culture or any of the convenient villains. It goes back further. Most of the men raising boys today were themselves raised by men who had no interior map either.
Wound passing wound. Generation after generation.
So the boy looks up and sees two options modeled for him:
His father. Who works, provides, stays quiet, and has no idea what is happening inside him. Not bad. Not weak in the obvious sense. Just absent from himself. And a man who is absent from himself cannot show his son the interior territory. You cannot give what you do not have.
The internet. Which is very happy to fill the vacuum.
And this is where it gets precise. The manosphere did not create lost men. It found them. It walked into a room full of young men with no map, no initiation, no father who could speak to the interior life, and it said: we know what you are supposed to be.
It offered a map. The map is wrong. But a wrong map feels better than no map when you are lost.
That is why it works. That is why it spreads. Not because young men are stupid or broken. Because they are hungry and nobody at home had any food.
The tragedy is not that boys are choosing the manosphere. The tragedy is that the choice was between that and nothing.
Which means the work is not to mock the manosphere. It is to offer something truer. A real map. One that does not require you to perform strength you do not feel yet, or pretend the wound is not there.
The wound is there. It was handed down with the best intentions by men who also had it.
Seeing that clearly is not blame. It is the beginning of the chain breaking.
