If you’re going to pick a student council president, who would you pick? — a boy or a girl?

Of course you’d always find out what the boy is like and what the girl is like.

But that’s not what they said.

They said “be a man.”

Boys will always be their first option.

To them, men are the standard.

What about women?

What about the human who has a uterus to carry a living life inside their body?

What about the Barbie(s)?

They’re also the standard right? Be a woman?

Unsaid feelings, taped mouth, throat tied, emotions kept hidden.

Angry, sad, hate, tired, any emotions every time I had to hear the word

“But he’s a boy, and you’re a girl.”

“Let them boys do it”

“They’re boys, it’s fine.”
