This hackathon is about taking AI beyond software workflows and into the physical world.
Over 24 hours, teams will build systems that connect AI, simulation, robotics, scientific equipment, and real-world verification. You will design and test your work in simulation, then demonstrate it using physical hardware at Zeon Systems.
This is the first opportunity for the broader community to build on Zeon’s simulation-first platform for developing, verifying, and deploying automation for the scientific bench.
Every team is expected to build and demonstrate something by the end of the weekend.
Scientific work is physical, variable, and difficult to automate. Experiments require reasoning about changing inputs, interacting with equipment, responding to measurements, and adapting when the physical world does not behave as expected.
The goal of this hackathon is to explore what becomes possible when AI systems can:
Projects do not need to solve an entire scientific workflow. A compelling demonstration of one new capability, integration, experiment, or physical skill is enough.
Teams will participate in one of three tracks. Detailed requirements, available resources, and example projects are provided on each track’s subpage.
Use AI and robotics to close the loop on a real antibiotic-resistance target.
Teams build an agent, robotic workflows, and an analysis loop that hunts for TEM-1 β-lactamase inhibitors - choosing compounds, designing the protocol, running the assay on robots, reading the plate, and letting round 1 sharpen round 2.
