This Privacy Policy describes how Trayner ("we", "us", "the app") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Trayner mobile application. Trayner (formerly known as SetWiser) is operated by Just Get Visible Ltd, based in London, United Kingdom. Contact: [email protected].
We have deliberately kept data collection to the minimum needed to make the app work. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifying information in order to use the app.
The information we do handle falls into three categories:
Your workouts, routines, set logs, body weight entries, body measurements, preferences, AI coach conversation history, and form-check history are stored locally on your device. The name you optionally enter on the Profile screen is also stored locally, and is included in AI Coach prompts and AI routine-generation prompts so the AI can address you by name. If you leave the field blank, "Athlete" is used instead. You can delete or change this at any time from the Profile screen.
The first time you launch the app we generate a random, anonymous identifier (a UUID) and store it in the iOS Keychain on your device. This identifier is sent to our server with each form-check, AI, or usage-related request, and is used as the user identifier in our analytics. We use it to enforce usage allowances, apply any promotional coupons you redeem, and group analytics events. The identifier is not linked to your name, Apple ID, advertising identifier, or any other personal data.
When you choose to run a form check, the short video clip you recorded is uploaded to our backend (hosted on Cloudflare Workers) and forwarded to AI providers (currently Google Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic, and Replicate) for analysis. The video is processed to return a form score, per-rep measurements, and coaching feedback. We do not retain your video after processing is complete, and we do not use your video to train AI models. The AI providers we use act as data processors and process the video only to return the analysis result.
When you ask the app to generate a workout routine or chat with the AI Coach, the prompt and any relevant context (such as your stated goal, experience level, equipment, recent workout history, and prior messages in the same conversation thread) is sent to our backend and forwarded to an AI provider (currently OpenAI and Anthropic) for processing. These requests do not include your name or any other personal identifier beyond the anonymous device ID described above. AI providers act as data processors and do not use these requests to train their models.
If you use the in-app voice feature, the app captures audio from your device microphone while you are actively speaking. This audio is sent to Apple's on-device or cloud speech-recognition service (depending on your device) to produce a text transcript. The audio is processed by Apple under Apple's privacy terms and is not stored by us. The resulting transcript is then sent to our backend and forwarded to an AI provider in the same way as a typed AI Coach message (see (d)). We do not record or store the raw audio.
We use Amplitude to understand how the app is used so we can improve it. Specifically:
We do not share analytics data with advertisers, and we do not use it to track you across other apps or websites.
