BetaByte ("we," "us," or "our") operates the VerseLock - Scripture & Prayer mobile application (the "App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.

1. Information We Collect

• Account Information: If you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials. On Android you may also choose to sign in with Google. On iOS you may also choose to sign in with Apple.
• User Content: Journal entries, reflections, prayer notes, reminders, and Verse Lock settings ("User Content") are created and stored on your device so you can use the App. We do not upload User Content to our servers.
• Device Permissions: To provide the core app-locking features, the App requires specific device permissions:
  • Android: Accessibility Services to detect when guarded apps are opened and present a Scripture gate.
  • iOS: Screen Time / Family Controls API to restrict access to chosen apps.
• Advertising Data: If you are not subscribed to Premium, the App shows non-personalized banner and interstitial ads served by Google AdMob. These ads are requested with non-personalized ads (npa=1). We do not use the advertising identifier for tracking, and iOS does not present an App Tracking Transparency prompt.
• Usage and Diagnostics: We use Google Firebase (including Crashlytics and App Check) to authenticate your account, help keep the App secure, and collect crash reports and basic diagnostics such as device type and operating system version.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

• Provide, maintain, and secure the core functionalities of the App.
• Authenticate your account and restore Premium purchases associated with that account.
• Show non-personalized ads to users who are not subscribed to Premium.
• Analyze anonymous diagnostics to improve the App's stability.
• Respond to support requests and communication inquiries.
