Moniepoint is Nigeria's largest microfinance bank, millions of individuals, small, medium and large businesses across the country. Moniebook is Moniepoint's ERP platform for businesses — and Moniebook Accounting is the financial intelligence layer I built from zero: a production-grade double-entry accounting engine that gives businesses real visibility into their financial health.
I joined with no prior accounting background. Within Q1, I had shipped the first feature. By August 2026, the product was processing billions in transactions and serving thousands of active businesses.
Small and medium business owners in Nigeria were running their finances blind. They were processing payments through Moniepoint but had no structured view of their P&L, no way to track expenses or payables, no reconciliation layer, and no understanding of whether their business was actually profitable. The gap was not just a product gap — it was a financial literacy and infrastructure gap that affected real business decisions every day.
I owned the full product lifecycle end-to-end — from zero to General Availability. This meant:
