Role: Technical Product Manager
Duration: 2022
Product: EnumPad (Mobile Geospatial Data Collection App), EnumDashboard (Web Analytics & Data Management Platform)
Team Scope: Engineering, Operations, Stakeholders, Community Managers, Field Enumerators
Milsat Technologies developed the core products for Enumeration Africa — a geospatial data collection and analytics company operating across Nigeria. EnumPad is a native mobile app built specifically for African geography, enabling field enumerators to collect structured, location-referenced data in real conditions — including areas with limited or no internet connectivity. EnumDashboard is the web-based analytics and data management platform where collected data is processed, analysed, and reported.
Enumeration Africa holds a significant set of credentials in the African data collection space:
I joined to lead a full product revamp and develop strategic modules that aligned with field operations. The platform had real credentials and real clients — but it had a problem it needed to solve before it could scale.
EnumPad's early version suffered from low adoption, inconsistent user feedback, and limited scalability for large-scale data collection. Field enumerators — the people using the app every day in real conditions — were encountering friction that was invisible at the product level but very visible in the field. Play Store ratings had dropped. Adoption was declining. The platform was being asked to handle increasingly large projects but was not built to hold that weight.
The product also lacked a centralised task management system for enumerators — teams in the field had no structured way to receive assignments, track their work, or report progress back to supervisors. Everything was manual, fragmented, and error-prone.
