Assignment -
One of the core problems the wealth management industry faces is how to access the external portfolio of customers. Without getting exposed to their current investments and access to the right information, it is difficult to provide the right advice by financial advisors or partners.
In the last 2 years, many fintech companies have been using multiple solutions like ECAS, a framework for their use cases and it is rapidly evolving as the next big thing in the wealth tech space. There is a lot of data that can be imported to our platform and it can be used to provide the right solution/advice for the customers.
As a wealth tech product manager,
How will you approach this problem ?
What are the potential solutions we should explore? detail one solution?
what are our competitors doing and what we can learn from them
what can be our value proposition and differentiation
What are the risks?
come up with an MVP roadmap considering you have 1 quarter timeline with a pod/ squad of 4-6 engineers, 1 QA, 1 UX and 1 Data analyst.
QUARTERLY MVP LAUNCH - FUNDSINDIA
Context :
At FundsIndia, we are always evolving to better serve our users. This however has not been essentially streamlined at its best. Amid ongoing conversations on how we can improve and maintain better onboarding and first/repeat investment of the user, I was entrusted with another assignment of crafting a clear strategy to guide us into identifying a better way to personalize and serve our customers better while using their existing investments history. The intention of this is to help our users take better financially literate decisions that can make them wealthy.
I was a bit lost because there are close to 1000’s of investment options that exist and each of them follow different strategies and data points. I was not sure if I should focus on building an entire new system or work on what we have and improve that. Plus, we have no idea about the tech challenges that might come up on how much bandwidth we could dedicate especially with the team we own. So instead of immediately deciding on a new flow, I opted to focus on the broader goal of clarity and consistency.
Objective :
Better investment opportunities visibility in terms of relevancy for the user.
Better repeat visits and repeat transactions.
