Computation has been a big part of my life. I started learning computer science in high school and later majored in it in college, where I worked on projects in areas like computer vision, artificial intelligence, and backend programming. However I often felt that these projects were missing a way to express my own thoughts and feelings. I enjoy video editing because it gives me that creative freedom, but the audience can usually only watch rather than interact with what I create. I want to use computation to combine these interests and create immersive experiences that respond to the user’s movements and choices through code and sensors.

In my Mona Lisa portrait, I used the function rectMode(CENTER) for Mona Lisa’s face***.*** I thought it was pretty convenient since I wanted to place the face in the middle of my canvas. My canvas has a length of 500, so I can just put in 250 for my x-coordinate. Without this function, the top-left corner of the rectangle would be placed at 250 instead, so the face would not actually be centered.
