The landing page is the first page of a website that the user will be directed to when opening a website. The goal of this page should be able to quickly introduce the brand to the user and it should direct the user and incentivise them to use the app, which is the opposite of what the current Libraries NI app is doing as it only directs people from the app to the website.

Should start considering getting my own domain name and planning my portfolio for second year.

We also discussed trademarks and copyright, there are different classes based off different products. Copyrighted products can not be used with permission from the owner.

I started by brainstorming and writing down all the different things that I thought would be useful to include in the landing page. After I got all these points I sorted them in to 4 main groups that I thought could be sections on the landing page

I wanted to focus specifically on using hierarchy to show the most important information, show what the user should prioritised.

I wanted to keep the tone of voice clear throughout all applications of the brand, which I wanted to be welcoming and inclusive.

• Group 1 - Welcome/Intro

  Quick introduction to the library in general.

  What the sub brand aims to do - a safe, fun and informative space for children to learn.

  What the library offers - the child specific areas featured in the library, an area specifically designed and curated for children.

  Helpful Links - download link for the app, contact link so users can learn more, link to main library website

  Maybe an animation of the mascot - welcoming the user to the brand

• Group 2 - Ready Readers Goal and purpose

  Goal of sub section - Creating a fun environment to encourage children to start reading earlier, make an environment where children want to read and where they enjoy reading.

• Group 3 - Reasons why the user should go to the library

  Showcase the different activities/events the library hosts.

  Highlight the benefits of reading especially with young children -

  1. Improves imagination, creativity and empathy
  2. increases vocabulary
  3. Develop speech and literacy skills
  4. Makes them more prepared for school and improves performance
  5. Helps attention mental wellbeing

• Group 4 - App information

  What the app offers, the different features and how they can benefit the user - keeping track of the different books you borrowed, finding new books that you interested in, reward system and giving the user an incentive to read.

  Staying updated on what the library offers, and the events that they have on.
