This week we started looking at creating our own personal brand, which will be helpful for our portfolios for second year. For making a personal brand you essentially use the same process as making a corporate brand, where you consider the font, colour scheme, values, logo, wordmark etc. This week I looked at choosing the colour scheme, font and creating the logo and wordmark.
Another key point to consider when creating a personal brand is how you want to be perceived. I considered the 3 main values that I wanted to be perceived as and how these could be represented through typefaces.
I also considered these values when choosing the colour scheme and the colour meanings, I also wanted to choose colours that I liked as the brand is meant to represent me. I wanted to use complimentary colours as I knew that they would work well together. The colours that I choose were:
These were the general ideas that I came up with for my personal brand. I got some feedback about the logo design to maybe experiment with a different typeface or put the logo in embalm to match the wordmark better, as the logo on its own would be difficult to read and understand on a smaller scale.
