It’s time to do the ICM sketch again, repeating it for the fourth time now. And this week, we’re also working with something repetitive: loops. I started to think about what to make, but even with the storm outside this weekend, my brainstorming wasn’t going anywhere. So I decided to sleep. Wait… sleep?

I made an animation about counting sheep. The repetition in my sketch happens over time. The loop repeatedly creates the same sheep and moves it across the screen and the screen gradually fades to black as the animation continues, representing the feeling of slowly falling asleep. This turns the familiar action of counting sheep into a visual rhythm.
Is the resulting pattern easy to see or hard to see?
The pattern is easy to see because the sheep repeat the same movement. The gradual fading of the screen adds another repeated change over time and makes the animation feel more continuous.
What would it mean to create the illusion of pattern?
To me, creating the illusion of pattern means making separate repeated actions feel like one continuous experience. The sheep repeat their movement, while the screen gradually becomes darker, making the animation feel like a dream that is slowly fading away.
Can you predict what the pattern will be when you run your code or does it surprise you?
I could predict the general pattern because each sheep follows the same rule.
