If you had the opportunity today to save someone's life, would you?
coz, I would!
and so will my TECH!
Project L.I.F.E. - Last-minute Intervention, Full Existence
If you ever see some mishap happening, would you take action or just sit and watch? I believe, unless you're from the media, you WILL take some ACTION.
and so should the CCTVs today! Why are they just left to watch crime when they can do much more? When they can act, why do they just watch?
NOT ANYMORE.
Team Name: Still_Alive! Project Name: Project LIFE (Last-minute Intervention, Full Existence) Track: AI/ML · Computer Vision · IoT & Embedded Systems Domain: Public Safety, Emergency Response, Disaster Detection
Emergency situations like falls, fires, and armed threats often go undetected for critical minutes because existing CCTV infrastructure is passive; it records but doesn't think. Someone has to be watching the feed at the exact moment something goes wrong, which almost never happens in practice. By the time an incident is noticed, the response window has already shrunk.
Project LIFE is a real-time computer-vision "guardian" system that turns any existing camera feed into an active safety monitor. It runs a detection engine that watches for three classes of emergencies: falls, fire/smoke, and weapon threats [live in the MVP right now - in process to add detection for more cases like natural disasters, debris fall, animal attack and more!]; fuses these signals through a severity and rules engine, then automatically sounds a local alarm and routes a simulated alert to the correct authority (medical, fire, or police) via pluggable notification adapters.
A local web dashboard shows the live annotated feed, a real-time event log, and manual controls, so a human is always in the loop even though detection itself is autonomous.
Because it's built on standard camera input rather than specialized hardware, the architecture is designed to be dropped into existing CCTV/IP camera infrastructure with no retrofit, and is hardware-agnostic enough to later run on edge devices (e.g. Raspberry Pi, NVIDIA Jetson) for fully offline deployment.
