Proving that a hard-working, ethical, decent group of smart people can succeed bigtime.
We are independent thinkers and challengers
We think in first principles and dare to do things differently.
We have big ambitions and bold ideas
We're playing in a competitive market and we want to win the race. This requires boldness and a hunger to win, together. Competition is external, never internal. We don't compete with each other within the team.
We are able to execute and ship at top speed
Releasing early and releasing often creates fast feedback loops with users, helping us build what's most relevant for them. Our competitive advantage won't last forever—speed is how we win. Winning also means occasionally stepping back to reflect, learn, and celebrate before we start again at top speed.
We are able to operate under uncertainty and ambiguity
Not because we avoid clarity, planning and structure, but because we are entering unknown territory and won’t always have a map to guide us. There will be changes we can't predict and we'll need to adapt fast. We’re able to find our own directions and create our own paths to reroute when needed. We all need to be prepared to operate effectively under uncertainty and ambiguity and embrace the challenge as something exciting rather than something that freezes us.
We embrace a global outlook
Roamless is a Global product. It takes a Global team with a Global outlook to build a product that can be used by everyone around the world. We prepared to embrace cultural differences.
We are just as decent as we are talented*
We aim to hire talented people, but talent alone is not enough. Roamies are also decent people who care about their impact on other Roamies. *(decent: marked by moral integrity, kindness, and goodwill)
We are humble and low-ego
We mean humble as the opposite of arrogant, not as the opposite of ambitious. Being humble at Roamless means knowing you have a lot of value to add and that the best way to add value is to focus on what's most important for the team and the company, not what's most important for your own personal interests and priorities. Doing the right thing is more important to us than being right.
