Meeting: Wednesday, August 5, 2026 · 12:00–1:00 PM ET
Facilitator: Saleem Abdulrasool
Audience: BCNY, Apple engineers, external community (open to all)
Forum: Swift Forums — Windows
Quick intro and structure. Reminder: this is office hours — community members, bring issues, questions, anything you're running into.
Open floor. What are you working on with Swift on Windows? What's blocking you?
Crash reporting follow-up: Karl was investigating the built-in runtime crash handling (minidump + symbolication tool). Carried from July 8 and July 22 — any findings?
Adobe (David): OLE2.lib linking / SPM support — still the main workflow blocker?
Windows Kit (thread): a user reported a problem consuming BCNY's swift-winrt projection. Worth surfacing here if they're in the room.
Only carrying forward items still open. Quick status on each — we'll keep it moving.
Carl — Reproduce the compiler diagnostic failure: check out the canonically-typed-imports PR without the CoreLibsFoundation change, run build.ps1 -test foundation on Windows, file a GitHub issue to generate a shadow radar for Slava. This is the unblock for the whole canonical-imports → COM chain. Status?
Charles — VS 2026 image status with Michel. Meeting was set for Friday July 24. Did it happen, and where does the image land?
Mishal — CDN URL structure and container setup. Online installers stay blocked until the URLs are defined and the MSI/CAB container is reachable per build. Also CI cluster: OOM on debug-info builds, and the VS 2026 image. Status on each?
REPL test SDKROOT fix — did pointing the REPL tests at the distribution (stage 1.5) runtime SDK bypass the test-suite-built stdlib? If not, we're back to it being an LLDB limitation.
6.4 on BCNY CI — bootstrapping fix first, then build the 6.4 branch from it. Status?
libxml2 — retry the update and validate the Foundation merge. Five years stale, CVE exposure, v2 interface changed. Result?
Alastair — DS2 → LLVM donation meeting with Fred, Ben, and Ted. Now ~10 weeks overdue. Consensus is forming on the LLVM forums anyway; won't make 6.4. Is the meeting still the right mechanism, or has the forum thread overtaken it?
