Meeting: Wednesday, July 8, 2026 · 12:00–1:00 PM ET
Facilitator: Saleem Abdulrasool
Audience: BCNY, Apple engineers, external community (open to all)
Forum: Swift Forums — Windows
1. Welcome & Agenda (~2 min)
Quick intro and overview of today's structure. Reminder: this meeting is designed as office hours. Community members — bring issues, questions, anything you're running into.
2. Open Forum: Community Issues (~10 min)
What are you working on with Swift on Windows? What's blocking you? Open floor.
- Community check-in: how are the toolchain snapshots working? Builds have been slower and more fragile post-refactor (clean builds often needed) — is that landing on anyone downstream?
- Adobe (David): OLE2.lib linking was the main blocker last time, with ~90% of the workflow depending on SPM support. Any movement?
3. Follow-Up: Action Items from June 24
- Saleem: Send Alistair the SxS post-build manifest-injection requirements overview (frame precisely before approaching Doug). Still owed — see 5c.
- Alastair: Ping Slava on the canonically-typed-imports compiler diagnostic failure (Swift compiler failing to generate a diagnostic for its own diagnostic); Saleem to share link. Status?
- Alastair: Organize the DS2 → LLVM donation meeting with Fred, Ben, and Ted (WWDC blocker now passed). Status?
- Joannis: Explore backporting the free-floating Python changes to 6.4 (Python 3.10 ships with 6.4 and reaches EOL October 2026). Status?
- Charles: Build ARM64 toolchain on spare machine with VS 2026 (bypasses A53 errata linker check); identify next blocker. Status?
- Carry-over: swap-file fix for CI — Charles/Mishal meeting was scheduled for Friday. Landed?
4. Status Updates (~8 min)
Brief updates on active work streams. Read ahead — we'll keep these quick.
