Wildwood parent food initiative
Food is our deepest connection to nature. It is life force, medicine, a humble yet precious daily act of self-expression and love.
Food is our inherent connection to our ancestors and our living culture.
Food is our greatest imprint on this earth.
And yet, our relationship with food has been systematically challenged in recent decades, with serious implications for our health and the health of the planet.
For this reason, for the love of our children and the world they will inherit, we have set up the Wildwood Food Initiative, exploring how food might be relevant to a ‘nature school’. We will post updates here as the initiative progresses and invite all members of our community to participate. Please let us know your thoughts!

To help and encourage Wildwood families to explore:
Finally, we’re getting to know some inspiring farmers and growers in the vicinity of London, and would like to share some of the voices that have greatly inspired this initiative, and to provide a repository for ideas as to how our children might connect with these issues in ways that are explorative and fun as well as informative, developmental and empowering.
To this end we’ve started to collate a **library of resources** featuring, amongst other things, instagram posts, videos, podcasts, full-form reports and books that we’ve found insightful.
All are contributing towards what we think might form the basis of something like a Wildwood ‘worldview on food’ - even a ‘manifesto’ - in relation to local food systems and farming practices.
