Privacy Policy — Socials Now

Last updated: 1 August 2026

Socials Now does not collect your data. There is no account to create, no analytics, no tracking, and no third-party services. This policy explains what the app does with your material and why almost none of it ever leaves your device.

The short version

Your videos, photos, audio, and scripts stay on your device. The app makes no network requests of its own. The only thing that ever leaves your device is the text of your project plan, and only if you leave iCloud sync switched on — in which case it goes to your own iCloud account, which we cannot read.

What the app stores, and where

On your device. When you import clips or record a take, the file is copied into Socials Now's own storage on your device. Your original files are never moved, changed, or deleted. Your scripts, scene order, timings, notes, take selections, captions, and project settings are saved alongside them.

In your iCloud account, if sync is on. Socials Now can sync the plan of your projects — titles, scripts, scene order, scene timings, notes, and project settings — through Apple's iCloud key-value storage so your work follows you between your Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Apple Vision Pro. This uses your own iCloud account. We have no access to it and no ability to read what is stored there.

Your video, image, and audio files are never synced or uploaded. They stay on the device you imported them on. This is deliberate: camera files are large and personal, and syncing them would mean surprise uploads.

You can turn iCloud sync off at any time in Project settings ▸ iCloud.

Speech recognition and captions

When you generate captions or tighten a scene to the speech, Socials Now transcribes the clip using Apple's speech recognition framework running on your device, against a language model installed locally. Your audio is not sent to us, to Apple, or to anyone else for this feature. The resulting caption text is stored with your project on your device.

The first time you use it, the operating system may download a speech model for your language from Apple. That download is handled entirely by the operating system.

Camera and microphone

If you record a take inside the app, Socials Now uses your camera and microphone. Recordings are saved into your project on your device and are treated exactly like any other clip — never uploaded. Your device will ask for permission before either is used for the first time, and you can revoke it at any time in System Settings (macOS) or Settings ▸ Privacy & Security (iOS/iPadOS/visionOS).

Files you choose

Socials Now can only read files and folders you explicitly select through the standard system open panel. It does not scan your disk, your photo library, or anything you have not pointed it at.

What we do not do
