As part of our commitment to greater accountability and transparency with the DAO — starting with more frequent roadmap updates — it is important to also look back to better inform future considerations of what’s next. Even as we find ourselves already in Q2 2026, we decided to formally review the 2025 strategic mandate rather than skip past it.

To do this, we pulled BIP-66 (budget and strategic mandate for 2024/25) and Choobie's Road Ahead post, and compared them against the 2025 Year in Review that Greg put together at the end of last year. The retrospective below maps what we committed to, what was delivered, what wasn't, and what we did that wasn't in the plan at all — including the financial picture where we have it.

1. What We Committed To

From BIP-66, the four strategic pillars for 2025 were:

1. Botto's Innovation — p5.js show with Verse, LLM/agent development, art engine upgrades (new models, remixing, natural language feedback)

2. Infrastructure & Participation — New app/code refactor, mobile experience, multiplayer features, leaderboards, badges, referral program, instant rewards

3. Building Reach — Community building, content & media, archiving & documentation, growth campaigns, cultural products via Studio, partners network, events & PR

4. Treasury & DAO Management — Tranched OTC approach, liquidity management past October 2025, governance reform, improved DAO reporting
