Intent note

I built Modern Fields because I wanted a more modern “ACF”, adapted to the block editor. In addition to using WordPress’s native fields, I wanted to offer a smoother and more attractive field creation experience, so you can build field groups visually (and take advantage of structure blocks such as rows, grids, and columns). And for that, the block editor was the perfect candidate.

But I also wanted to go further. Where ACF stops at creating and using fields, I wanted to offer a third step: displaying and using meta from within the editor, so you do not need code to read and display metadata.
