CoBid is an independent browser extension for tracking selected lots in Copart UK auctions. It is not affiliated with Copart.
The extension reads auction content on copart.co.uk and its auction subdomains. This includes lot IDs, lot-page URLs, vehicle descriptions, displayed bids, auction lane and queue information, sale status and timing. It stores the lots you choose, observed auction details, fee and notification settings, and the time and result of its latest audio playback attempt in local Chrome extension storage. An observed-lane cache is held in session storage and associated with the auction tab ID.
The extension does not send this information to the developer, advertising companies or analytics services. It has no developer-operated data server, analytics, advertising, telemetry, or cloud synchronisation. It does not read unrelated websites or access Chrome's browsing-history database. Its handling of website activity is limited to the Copart pages and lots needed for auction tracking. It does not collect passwords or payment-card information.
To refresh watched lots, the extension requests their lot-detail pages directly from Copart UK. These requests include the selected lot ID in the URL and may use your existing Copart session cookies through Chrome. Copart receives normal network request information, such as your IP address. The extension does not read or store cookie values. Your relationship with Copart and its handling of those requests are governed by Copart's own privacy policy.
Desktop notifications can display a watched vehicle's name and bid on your device. Sound is generated locally and requires no external audio service. You can change alert settings in the extension.
Saved watch records remain until you remove them or uninstall the extension. Removing a watch deletes its saved watch record; temporary data read from an open auction may remain in the browser session cache until the session ends. Uninstalling the extension removes its extension storage. Chrome or device backups are controlled by your browser/device settings.
You can remove watched lots, change fee and alert preferences, restrict site access, or uninstall the extension using Chrome. For privacy questions, use the support contact provided on the extension's Chrome Web Store listing.
If the extension's data practices change, this policy will be updated. Any materially different use of data will be reflected in the extension and its store disclosures.
