cp.cat 🐈⬛cp.cat is a private clipboard history for your Mac. It keeps what you copy searchable, tags it automatically, and catches secrets like API keys, tokens and private keys as you copy them, so they're redacted from your history and cleared from your clipboard after a few seconds.
Do I need an account or sign-in? Nope. There's no account, no login and no server. Your clipboard history never leaves your Mac.
What does cp.cat record?
Text you copy while cp.cat is running. Password managers are ignored, you can exclude any other app in Settings, and you can pause recording at any time.
What happens to secrets I copy?
When cp.cat detects a secret, its text is never written to disk. It's held in memory for a short moment in case you need it, then released, and the clipboard shield can clear it from your clipboard after a few seconds.
How do I delete my history? Use Settings › Clear all history. Clips older than your chosen retention period are removed automatically, unless you've pinned them. Moving the app to the Trash doesn't remove its data on its own, so clear your history first if you want everything gone.
How does the free trial work?
cp.cat is free for 7 days, then a one-time purchase unlocks it for good. There's no subscription. If you've already bought it, use Restore purchase.

Overview
cp.cat is local-only. We don't collect, transmit or store any of your data on external servers. Everything cp.cat records stays on your Mac.
Data we collect None. No analytics, no crash reporters, no ads, and no third-party SDKs.
Data stored on your Mac
Text you copy while cp.cat is running is stored in a local database inside the app's sandboxed container on your Mac. Detected secrets are redacted: their text is never written to disk. You control how long history is kept, which apps are ignored, whether history is left out of Time Machine backups, and whether the window is hidden from screen sharing and screenshots. You can clear everything at any time in Settings.
