This Privacy Policy explains how Inflata collects, uses, and protects your information. Inflata is a high-precision price intelligence tool designed to help users track grocery inflation, detect shrinkflation, and optimize spending through receipt analysis.

1. Information We Collect

Inflata does not require account creation. By default:

• Locally Stored Data: Your scanned receipt items, price history, store names, inflation scores, watchlist, and app settings are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage.
• No Personal ID: We do not collect personal information that directly identifies you (such as your name, address, or phone number).
• Receipt Images: Images you scan are processed for OCR (Optical Character Recognition) and are not stored on our servers after processing is complete.

2. How We Use Information

Information is used only to provide core app features:

• Calculating your personal inflation rate and monthly spend.
• Identifying price spikes and shrinkflation trends.
• Comparing prices across your shopping history to find the cheapest stores.
• We do not sell your personal spending data.

3. Permissions We Request

Inflata may request the following permissions:

• Camera: Required to scan your physical receipts.
• Media Library: Required if you choose to upload receipt images from your gallery.
• Notifications: Required only if you enable Price Spike Alerts (Pro feature).
