In Paris, a confident Traditional Chinese Medicine sifu treats Pierre, a man who appears physically unwell. Despite intense treatments, something about Pierre’s condition remains unresolved. When a padlock enters the picture, it reveals an issue beyond medicine, triggering a chain of events that leads Pierre toward an unexpected encounter—and a different kind of healing.
In Paris, a visibly unwell man named Pierre meets a confident Traditional Chinese Medicine sifu, who is determined to heal him using exaggerated treatments like fire cupping, guasha, and acupuncture. Although Pierre’s body begins to recover, he remains emotionally drained, and the sifu realizes that something more than physical illness is at play. When Pierre reveals a padlock engraved with his name and his ex-girlfriend’s, it becomes clear that his true struggle is heartbreak. Dismissing romance as nonsense, the sifu throws the padlock away, prompting Pierre to chase after it. In the process, he collides with a stranger named Colette, leading to an unexpected, playful encounter that helps Pierre find a new kind of healing—showing that sometimes happiness comes not from medicine, but from chance and connection.

We used a lot of different films and movies as our reference to try and make our unique short film. Mainly using “Luca” and “The Mitchells Vs The Machines” for our design reference, “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatball” as our 3D animation reference and “OO-Seoro Oh” for our 2D animation reference. Also have our VFX reffering to the film “Spiderman into the Spiderverse”.
