Purpose

Dual Subtitles Fixed displays two official Netflix subtitle tracks together. This policy describes how the extension handles data.

Data processed and why

• Netflix title identifiers, subtitle track metadata, playback time, and subtitle-resource URLs are processed to identify the current title, retrieve subtitles, and synchronize their display.
• Subtitle text is downloaded directly from Netflix's content servers and parsed in the browser. The extension does not send subtitle text or viewing information to a developer-operated server.
• Preferred subtitle languages, on/off status, and display preferences are saved using Chrome storage. Settings stored in Chrome Sync may be synchronized by Google according to your Chrome settings. The developer does not receive these settings.
• The extension does not access the browser's general browsing-history database. Its network listener observes requests to Netflix's nflxvideo.net content domain to identify subtitle resources.

Storage and retention

Subtitle text, resource URLs, and playback-related data are held temporarily in browser memory for subtitle loading, caching, and display; they are not written to a developer database. Memory caches are cleared as the relevant tab, title, or extension process is reset. Preferences remain in Chrome storage until changed or removed. The extension may also read locally stored legacy per-title preferences.

Sharing and third-party services

The extension contains no advertising or analytics service and does not sell user data. It does not use data for advertising, creditworthiness, lending, or purposes unrelated to its subtitle functionality. Subtitle requests are sent to Netflix content servers, which receive ordinary connection information such as the requesting IP address. Google may process synchronized settings when Chrome Sync is enabled. Netflix, Google, and Notion operate their services under their own privacy policies; Notion hosts this policy page.

Your controls

You can change your saved preferences in the popup. Turning off dual subtitles stops the overlay and restores Netflix subtitle controls. The installed extension's background network listener may still observe Netflix content requests and temporarily cache subtitles while the extension remains enabled in Chrome. To stop all extension activity, disable or remove the extension in Chrome's extension settings. Removing the extension removes its local extension storage. Any synchronized data is managed through Chrome's synchronization settings and Google's applicable controls.

Limited Use

The extension's use of user data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is used only to provide and maintain the subtitle features described here and is not sold or transferred for unrelated purposes.
