Doc Annotator is designed with a single purpose: to allow users to highlight text, attach notes on web documentation pages, and synchronize annotation data securely across devices.

Doc Annotator collects and processes only the minimal necessary data required to provide its core features:
A. Personal Identification Information & Account Data
- Data Collected: User ID, Email Address, and Display Name obtained via Google OAuth2 authentication (
identity permission).
- Purpose: To identify your user account, provide secure login, and manage cloud synchronization for your personal annotations.
B. Authentication Information
- Data Collected: OAuth Access Tokens and Refresh Tokens.
- Purpose: To keep you authenticated securely and allow seamless background synchronization of your annotations across devices. Tokens are securely stored in Chrome's
storage.session and storage.local.
C. Web Content & Annotations
- Data Collected: User-selected text snippets, highlights, and notes created by the user on web pages.
- Purpose: To display, anchor, and store your custom highlights and notes on web documentation pages.
