48 hours of building privacy-preserving apps on Midnight August 7-8 2026, Palermo, Buenos Aires
Welcome to Midnight Hack Buenos Aires, the official Midnight hackathon for LATAM builders! Over 48 hours, in the heart of Palermo, you'll design and ship a privacy-preserving application on Midnight — a data-protection blockchain that lets you keep sensitive data private while still getting all the benefits of a public blockchain.
Never touched blockchain before? You're in the right place — there's a full Beginner Track built for you, pre-event workshops, and mentors on-site the whole weekend. If you know TypeScript, you're already most of the way to writing Compact, Midnight's smart contract language.
Code of Conduct: Find our full Code of Conduct here — please make sure to read it before the event.
Discord Join the Midnight Discord and find the #hack-buenos-aires channel to discuss with the other fellow hackers. You’ll receive updates from our team in the #hack-buenos-aires-announcements channel, and if you are looking for team mates, head to #hack-buenos-aires-team-building!

Total prize pool: $10,000 USD across two parallel tracks.
| Track | Who it's for | 1st place | 2nd place |
|---|---|---|---|
| Open Track | Teams where at least one member has previously built on Midnight | $3,500 | $1,500 |
| Beginner Track | Teams where nobody has built on Midnight before | $3,500 | $1,500 |
"Already built on Midnight" means any team member, before the event, has: deployed a contract/DApp to Midnight mainnet or testnet; contributed code to an ecosystem repo; received a grant, bounty, prize, or paid work for Midnight development; competed in a previous Midnight hackathon; or been employed/contracted to build on Midnight. Declare this honestly at registration — organizers can reclassify or disqualify a team found to misrepresent their track.
