The Ecosystem is adding Support for Off-chain Message Signing to ensure standard, readable messages can be displayed uniformly across wallets/signers. The initiative includes:

• Developing a new v1 to off-chain message signing that addresses concerns with v0
• Adding new signOffChainMessage method to wallet standard, Wallets, Dapps (original proposal) that implements the v1 standard
• Creating a low-friction opt-in on-board pathway for dApps
• Existing signMessage is unchanged

Action Plan & Status

1. Land signOffChainMessage in Wallet Standard (v1 only) — foundational, unblocks everything downstream.
2. Consume the new feature in Wallet Adapter, Wallet Plugin, Wallet UI, Mobile Wallet Adapter, and ConnectorKit.
3. Wallets and auth libraries (eg Supabase) implement.
4. Publish docs/sample apps and run developer outreach once wallet support is available.
